If you’re a naturally curly-haired-girl, you know that sleeping can seriously put a cramp in your kinks. All that tossing and turning can wreak havoc on your curls by the time you wake up. Enter pineappling. This method of loosely securing your hair into a top knot or ponytail (resembling the shape of a pineapple) before bed will keep your curls pretty through the night. Pineappling prevents the frizz, knots and flattened spirals that come with lying on a pillow. We break down pineappling below, in four easy steps.
Before you go to sleep prep your damp locks withDavines Love Curl Cream orLove Curl Controller (depending on how tight your curls are).
Gently gather your hair into a high ponytail at the crown of your head. Slip a fabric scrunchie over the base of the ponytail and do not twist it around to tighten it. You want the tension to be as loose as possible to avoid a dent in the morning.

Let half of your curls fall to one side, and half to the other. Don’t worry if the scrunchie slips a little your curls will still be protected.
The next morning, remove the scrunchie and shake out your hair. Revive your curls with a few spritzes ofDavines Love Curl Revitalizer.
Wake up with your best second and third day hair, and your style from the night before still intact. For more on caring for your curls this summer, see our previous post "Summer Curl Tips for Naturally Curly Hair".
