This is a Curl Building Serum

I really love this serum for when I wear my hair natural! I genuinely am surprised every time at how soft my hair is, and it’s so much easier to take the crunchy cast out of my hair. My only ‘criticism’ is that I can’t find a Davines product to match it for the days I blow out my hair. I would immediately order if there’s a replica that isn’t for curly hair

I love love love the curl building serum. It’s moisturizing, defines my curls and drys feeling like there’s no product in my hair. It’s never sticky. I love that the hold is just perfect and doesn’t contribute to tangling at night when I wrap it up. I have 3a hair to my mid back and this product lasts me about a month, using it every other day.

Though skeptical, as I’ve tried a ton of curly hair products with big promises that don’t deliver, I ordered the curl building serum along with the Love shampoo and conditioner. And I was blown away by the results. I have fine 2c/3a hair that has always needed refreshed by rewetting in the mornings, but using Davines products for the last two wash days this is no longer a problem. Not only am I waking up with good curls, they last all week! And they are still soft throughout the week. Definitely will purchase again.

I just got a text from Devines asking me to review this item that I ordered 2 weeks ago. I wish that I could, but it has still not shipped and I have not received it.

Although I love Davines products, please be aware that if you have an issue there is no customer service line to speak with someone if you have an issue. I ordered 2 advent calendar boxes, only 1 showed up. I emailed them 3 times now several pictures of labels and boxes showing how it was labeled with 2 but clearly could not fit 2 in the box it was delivered in. It’s been 4 days and no response or resolution. It was to be a Christmas gift so I cannot express how disappointing this is, and I’m out $169.

Kinda incredible product for twists! Was shocked with how well it worked on my 4C hair. Has a great amount of slip that allows the product to stretch (a little goes a very long way with damp hair) with really decent hold (like hands-down gave me the most defined twists I've had in recent memory.) Also really holding up to the anti-moisture promise as I've been sweating here in the damp NYC heat and my hair and scalp feel just as good as earlier this week. Happy I got to try this out from a friend because I'll be purchasing for myself!

Love love love. My curls came back with a vengeance about 6 years ago after having been dried out (due to climate? hormonal shifts?) for almost 15 years, and while I was excited I had a really hard time finding a suitable hair gel/cream. Last year a friend gave me this, and I only discovered it's greatness this year. Please don't change the formula. It has been working so good. I also use it refresh on day two and it looks great. Thank you! Works perfect.

Love, love, love this product! It is lightweight on my fine, thin hair and helps set my curl pattern beautifully! I’m on my second bottle of this and definitely will buy more!

I just purchased this again at my salon. My first bottle lasted me a year for my chin length wavy hair. I use this with the medium hold gel. Whether I air dry or diffuse, my hair looks great - for days!

I hope this product is only temporarily out of stock. It’s my favorite, coupled with the medium hold gel. I’ve tried so many curly hair products, including other Davines options, and this is by far one of the best. Soft, bouncy, defined curls without a hard cast or frizz.

I found a hairdresser who can work with my natural waves. She recommended your products which I believe work wonders. I can go days between shampoos and still receive compliments.

Bought this for my 89 year old mother who has natural silver hair with a processed perm. It gives great shine, definition, and seems to help her curls hold their shape naturally so she can go without heat styling as well as the days she uses a curling iron.

This is the best hair product I have ever used on my hair. If you’ve tried the no frizz, leave in conditioners that don’t work you need to try this. I can’t thank my hair stylist enough for keeping me looking fabulous && always knowing how to tame my mane.

Works well on my Type 3a/b/c curly hair without weighing it down. A little goes a long way. My curls now have definition. I use the Oi All-in-One Milk follow by this curl serum. That is all I need.

Excuse the silly photo- I originally sent it to my ma- to tell her how awesome Davines product is. I’ve used the same gel since middle school and at 29 I’m changing over all my products. The softness of my curls- the frizz control- and my scalp has never felt so healthy I smooth the oi oil on wet hair, apply a nickel/ quarter size amount of the serum (way less than I used to use of gel) and then scrunch with some curl mousse. I also use the hair spray but I’m pretty sure I just like the smell. I don’t even need the control. I can go three to five days like this. Soft soft curls and no scalp buildup.

Smoothing hold and definition for 3a/b curls Key word in the product name is “flexible”. I have thick, coarse, 3a/b curls - with highlights AND bangs. I don’t need help with curl formation or clumping - I need help with smoothing the coarse texture and defining the curls. I prefer soft, fluffy curls without a ton of hold, which is exactly what this gives me. A tiny bit of silicone, yes, but it goes a long way to help my extend my wear time. I usually go 4-5 days between washes. I can wear this down for at least 3 days looking fresh and fluffy. Plus it smells great.

The BEST Curl Product I Have Ever Used I'm a natural curly girl, type 3B/C. I've tried what feels like every product for curly hair known to mankind and I always have to use several products (one for definition, one for smoothing, one for frizz, one for hold, etc). Until now, that is! I bought this serum last night at the salon, eager to see what the results might be. Boy was I shocked to see that the quarter sized amount I used (I have just past my shoulders, very thick hair) left me with perfectly coiled, frizz free ringlets with nice hold (but not crunchy). ONE PRODUCT! One and done. My daughter has very curly hair too and I used this on her this morning, as well. She was also left with the most perfect ringlets with zero freeze and wonderful definition. We will never stop using this product! Now, to try some lovely shampoos and conditioners from Davines! Thank you for making this product and please never discontinue it!

Good hold product and no flaking Really like this product. I section my hair after I wash it and apply this, scrunch after hair is fully dry. The curls last for 3 days without refreshing. No flaking and doesn't make my hair look dirty after a couple days. Have to use a decent amount though and too much is not a problem with this product.

Wow for fine wavy hair! I have been losing my hair for years. It's gotten very thin and each strand is so fine. I have tried so many products and most weigh it down. I used a dime size on my damp shoulder length hair yesterday, scrunched and let it air dry. It looked great all day. Much less flyaways, defined wave without being limp.I got out of bed this morning and was shocked at how good my hair looks. Typically when I get up it is a snarled tangled mess. Now there are virtually no knots. I could've walked out the door like this! Unbelievable!

Awesome for "touchups" This is the BOMB! I work out all the snarls with a wet brush and LOVE Conditioner. After a towel dry I work a teaspoon of this through my hair and go.....HOORAY! Looks great, nifty spiral curls and limited frizz. Then...when things get a bit frizzy and the curls start to loose their bounce, I combine a bit of this with water and work through the ends and up. You can finger separate as you go to keep the curls happy.

Silicones Wish this didn't include silicones, which are very drying for curly hair.

Gorgeous Curls! I am 53 years old (young!) with shoulder length colored and curly/frizzy hair. I have used every major brand including Pureology, Kerastase, Aveda, Redken, etc., looking for the perfect hold for my curls. I have always ended up with either not enough hold (every other product) or crispy, crunchy curls (Aveda), so I mostly blow dry and flat iron my hair. My mom owns a hair salon and received a sample of "This Is A Curl Building Serum," so she gave it to me. I ALMOST threw it away but decided to try it on a rainy day that I wasn't leaving the house. Scrunched hair with a hair towel. Small amount to hair while scrunching with hands then used a diffuser for 5 minutes tops to hold in the curl and give volume (a key step!) FANTASTIC. SOFT. CURL. NO FRIZZLE! I have received compliments on my curly hair every single time. I'm ordering another 2 bottles and hope they never discontinue this miraculous product.

Good product! It helped shape my curls, smells great, and has a nice texture (never left my curls oily or crunchy), but I don't think it did much to combat frizz. Overall, I will probably buy it again!

Holds curl and smells good I was looking for a new product to replace the one I used that got discontinued. This serum smells great and it holds curls and reduces frizz. You do need to comb it into your hair using your fingers so your curls are defined but it holds great and doesn’t give you that crispy hair feeling!

Not effective While this product smells wonderful and is not sticky like the Love Curl styling product, it does not define curls or do anything really. I tried using it several times, dry and damp. I do love all other product lines of Davines, however not a fan of any of the products I’ve tried so far for curly hair. At this point I just use it for the wonderful smell.

Perfect for every occasion I'm a ballerina with curly hair, which often don't mix. I have to put my hair up in a tight, flat, frizz-free bun for every class, which is difficult for curly hair. I usually use hair gel for the bun, but when I take it out, my hair is stiff and my curls are ruined, making it impossible more me to wear my curls down without washing them first. Having class every day, that is just unrealistic and honestly a huge pain! This curl building serum changed everything. I simply smooth it over the top of my hair, letting me pull it into a smooth bun without brushing it. When I take my hair out of the bun, my hair curls back immediately without getting frizzy. This product honestly changed my life.

Smelled like chemicals Unfortunately, the smell of these products was so strong I couldn't wear them all day and had to wash them out. The return process was extremely easy though, that's why I gave 2 stars

Not what I expected I had great expectations for this product because of all good reviews, so bought it whit close eyes. Bad idea. My hair was so stiff and sticki that I really wanted to wash it again, and the frizz never goes my curls doesnt appear at all. I dont know, this product doesnt work for me at all, total waste of money.

Davines Curl Serum I can not even style my hair without Curl Serum & would not try if I ran out! It controls my curls & I look like I have twice the thickness that I do! It is my go to product wet or dry before I leave the house??

Love!!!!! I have wavy-curly hair (curly underneath and more wavy on top). I use this product after I shower (using the Devines Ol shampoo and coniditioner <3). I run it through my hair then scrunch it a bit with my hands, I then use the Davines Oil non-oil. MY curls come out so silky smooth and just perfect! I love the smell of this product that I go in with a little more afterwards to get the smell. Love all Davines products as you can see, but this combination makes my hair look gorgeous and natural (..and smell delicious!)

Best Curl Building ANYTHING I have ever used!!! I am 59 years old with silver hair. I also have very curly hair and have had it all my life. Funny how it took me 59 years to find the best product for my curly hair. This is it! I love Davines Curl Building Serum. My hair has nice soft curls, no stiffness that some gels leave behind. And my hair feels so healthy. I highly recommend this product!!!

Could not believe my eyes after trying this serum I used gels for curl formation ever time I washed my hair, and second day hair was blah. I saw this product and wanted to try it. Seemed pricey, so I was cautious. Wish I had tried it way back. It is so amazing and it doesn't take much to get fabulous results. I tried this before the Love shampoo and conditioner. Immediately my hair was shiny and looked incredibly healthy and bouncy. My hair is past my shoulders, 40% grey and wavy/curly. It looked great after the curling serum, but after adding the smoothing shampoo and conditioner, it is supercharged. I'm a total convert!

My all-time favorite curl product! I began using Davines's Curl Building Serum about a year ago, at my stylist's suggestion, and I haven't used anything else since. It creates a perfect blend of moisture and definition without weight, and produces bouncy, frizz-free curls, whether it's hot and humid or cold and windy. I tend to be sensitive to scents, but this light fragrance doesn't bother me at all. And it may seem a bit pricey, but it lasts me for about four months, and it's the best styling product I've ever used.

Soft touchable curls Nice, lightweight product that encourages your curls. The hold is soft. I've tried several products that this is the best. I live in dry climate and this product works in all seasons. HIghly recommend

We prefer LOVE curling cream... After the raving reviews of this Serum, I decided to make the switch. Unfortunately, the hubby (who also uses this product) didn't care for the new cream. This one smells more "chemical" than the LOVE. Seems to work OK though, which is good... but we haven't been using it as much, as we don't like it as much...

MY GO-TO I've been using this for about 3-4 week now and love it! IT IS MY GO-TO for when I want some soft curls (non-crunchy) that are frizz-free. All I use is about a nickel size but when I want a little more form for the curls I use about a quarter size. I just put it in my hair when it's partially wet and go. This is perfect for someone that has irregular curls like me!

best curl product ever I've been using a different product that requires applying product to soaking wet hair and seems to require A LOT of product to get the results I want. Other products I've tried weighed my hair down and flattened it out. With this curl serum, a little goes a long way, and you can apply it to damp hair (which I prefer). This product creates soft, shiny, defined curls with plenty of volume.

Finally curls without frizz I have spent years/decades, looking for a styling product that would love and nourish my curls. Don't want them weighed down, strung out, greased up or flattened out. This is the best styling product I have ever used - it leaves the curls bouncy, happy and quenched for moisture. Would like to see this in a travel size too.

No frizz AND no crunch This never happens ... soft curls that aren't crunchy, even when you air dry. When it does, you buy the product! I do wish my curls would last longer, but I find your other hold products the curl serum and curl mousse make my hair sticky and and discourage the curl.
