Fix this please!!!!! I bought the hair potion a few times over the past 2-3 years and LOVED it! Lightweight, softening, light pleasant smell. The last time I purchased from a different online company the fishy smell was so off putting I had to throw away an almost full bottle. I figured I’d gotten a bad batch or the online clearinghouse had given me something fake (though the shampoo/conditioner purchased at the same time were great as always), but reading these reviews I think Davines f-ed up somehow in the manufacturing. Hopefully it can return to its prior awesomeness. I have super fine/light hair and most other leave ins are too much

I would have to agree with some of the other reviewers about the fishy smell. I got the Momo cream from my hairstylist and I was extremely shocked when I used it for the first time. Strong fish smell and it actually makes me hair feel more dry and crusty.

Using Davines momo hair potion has totally changed the health of my hair for the better. Tangles come out easily, hair looks great after blow drying, curls are smooth, and my hair never looks super poofy!

My hair is still dried after I put this mask on.

I use the whole Momo line (shampoo and conditioner) and bought the hair potion to try out. I read the reviews about the smell but figured I would see for myself. OMG THE SMELL. Smells absolutely fine in the bottle (not like the Momo shampoo/conditioner, but pleasant enough), but as soon as it was put in my clean hair it smelled like DIRTY MOP WATER. I’m legit blown away how accurate the other reviews were about the smell. I can’t even comment on the moisturizing component because I’m too disgusted by the smell. Ugggg I wanted to like this product so much.

Perfect for boyfriend who hates spending time on his hair. He has longish curly hair that gets dry and frizzy between washes. This is fool proof and easy to use. Wet hair, comb, scrunch, done. It also has a very mild scent, not too girly.

I'm not sure what it is, but any of the Davines cream products (I've used Momo and Love) suddenly have a terrible smell to me. They smell fine in the bottle and when I first apply, but at some point the smell "curdles" and I can only describe it as a perm on a dirty dog. I only use Davines products from shampoo to styling, so I wouldn't think it's an interaction between them. I was using Love for years but switched to Momo when the bad smell happened. Momo is not as intense or long lasting, but still not great. Bad batch recently? Body chemistry change? New odor sensitivity? No idea but it's only milks and oils for me from now on.

I love the entire Momo line and will be ordering more shortly. My hair is fine but I get it colored and highlighted fairly regularly so it tends to dry out. These products work so well in that my hair isn't flat or weighed down at all, and feels soft and looks so much healthier.
I absolutely love the smell of the Momo hair potion, too!! Maybe others had an off batch, like one of the other readers stated. For me this is the best!! Thank you!

Oh my gosh!! I really should have read my review before I sent it.

Have a wonderful day!! Don’t judge me

I Absolutely love these products!
I can’t imagine anyone complaining about them.
My hair feels like silk after using my products.
Currently moved from Ohio to Florida and I can’t find a salon here that sells Davines products so I will order online. Florida sun is really hard on my hair and every product that I have bought here can’t hold a candle to the Devon Ness products like for example the NouNou hair mask.
I was very happy when the container the products changed because I struggled with the old snap down top on the hair mask, now it’s a twist top. That’s was my only critic ever.
Loving these products!!
I always buy salon products instead of any store bought.
I expect quality and that’s what I love about this product line. Thank you!!

Can`t say much yet about the moisturizing properties, but the smell is like urin or old, wet cardbox, floormop. I will stick to my oribe alchemy treatment and not repurchase this product, because of the awful , sour smell.

Works great. Live in AZ hot and dry. Put in hair. Works as a lightweight styling in addition to moisturizer.

Really pleasant to use, smells great and helps to hydrate and tame my dry frizzy air.

The smell of this is lovely and light, I think some others must be sensitive to any scented products or got a defect purchased on a third party reseller maybe? Anyways, this helps form beautiful, lasting curls in my hair! I have very long curly hair and it gets super dry most of the time— not if I put this on clean, damp hair! I also use after I re-wet my hair in between washes and it keeps my curls formed, healthy, and moisturized like no other.

Life would be much diminished without the beautiful scent of Momo shampoo and conditioner - the scent is an EXACT REPLICA of the original Pantene shampoo produced by Hoffmann-La Roche before it was sold to Procter and Gamble in 1985. I am so happy to have found Davines Momo shampoo! I never thought my hair would have that delicate fresh scent again..the hair potion?
BUT! If you buy Momo for the gorgeous scent skip this product!

Beautiful soft easy to style. No fly always during cold winter months. My fine hair looks so healthy , great body. And most of all lots of compliments!

Momo hair potion is critical to my hair’s health. I live in a dry mountain environment and work outdoors. Without Momo’s nourishing care, my curly & fine hair would be in sad shape. I especially appreciate the mild smell as I am sensitive to odors and intolerant to perfumes. Being a lifelong fisherwoman, I can attest that Momo does NOT smell like fish. The hair potion smells pleasant and works great!

Not sure what people are talking about in regards to a fishy smell, must be a personal reaction, I think the natural smell of this is great. There is virtually no smell, which is what I like, I hate scented products. In regards to this product, it is my secret weapon. I discovered MOMO shampoo and conditioner when I received travel sizes at a hotel I stayed at. I was hooked and then found the Momo potion which I leave in, but I have very thick, straight hair which usually gets weighed down by leave in conditioners, this does not weigh me down. My hair stays light and bouncy, people stop and are like, your hair is great, and I'm like have you heard of Davines?

I get the reviews about smell but it's a great product!
I was a bit leary to buy this b/c of the smell reviews, but I decided to try it anyway. I go totally get the fishy smell, but I think it's just a combination of the ingredients. It doesn't last long at all so it's not a deal breaker for me. Anything that can moisturize my hair like that and make it shine, it can smell however it wants! I've only used it on dry hair for now (primarily the ends) but it's an immediate result and you don't need much at all! If you aren't bothered by smells in general definitely get this. One thing to consider about negative reviews is that not all product work for every person, so just because it doesn't work for someone doesn't mean it's a bad product. It just means it didn't work for that person, so I always feel like things are worth trying to find out what works for YOU. It's no different than having to kiss a few (or many) frogs to find our prince (or princess). I'm a definitely Davines convert. I'm just so happy to have a local salon that I can purchase from.

Reformulated????
I too will agree to the smell of the Momo is very offputting. The first time I bought the product it was in a tube and had a really great smell. The newer products are in these plastic bottles and they are really offensive. I agree that I won’t be buying them again based on that smell

Not moisturizing at all!
First of all, let me comment on the smell. I saw many reviews saying that the smell was fishy. In my case, when I applied the product to towel-dried hair, the smell was ok - like the whole Momo line. However, when applied to dry hair, the smell turned fishy. Super unpleasant! Did not last though, so that's good
Now on to why I gave this only one star. This makes my dry hair look even drier! I wash my hair with the Momo shampoo, then apply Momo conditioner, leave for 10 minutes, towel-dry my hair and then work the Momo potion into my hair. And it makes my hair look worse! It takes away the shine, makes make hair look and feel dry. I'm super confused. I tried this product several times, experimentes with the amount, way of applying, air drying, blow drying, everything. I just can't get this to work for me

shiny and smooth
I love the Momo products. I have highlighted and fine hair and live in a very dry climate. My hair is soft and shiny, and the smell if great! Not like the chemical perfumed shampoos, but more organic smelling like a fresh garden. Thanks
Sandra
a game changer for dry fine hair
Not sure why the bad smell reviews - perhaps the batch was off? Mine smells soft and clean. I love this product for adding moisture and shine without weighing my hair down. My hair is super dry, fine and thin - lots of products weigh it down but this doesn't! love!

LOVE. IT.
I honestly am confused by all the bad smell reviews, this product smells like a yummy baby powder to me. I love the lightweight moisture, light enough that I can put the extra product near my scalp and it won't weigh it down. 10/10 one of my favorite Davines products, and I've used almost all of them! I put it on wet and if my ends need a little extra love, I'll put a dollop on the ends once it's dry.

Disgusting stench for no benefit
Oh dear God. The stench from this product is outrageous. It is sickening. This product has made me smell like a dirty, unclean wench who has not washed after a week in the sun in nylon pants. The stench is putrid. Utterly putrid.

The Smell
The description of the product is wonderful, but the reality is not great. The scent is so awful... like fish food mixed with oil based paint. I am NOT sensitive to smells, this is just that bad. I used it for almost a year, once a month just trying to get past the scent and I finally called it quits. I used 1/6 of the bottle and couldn’t finish it. A miss for me.

Worth the smell
Yes, this stinks, but it's the 1st moisturizer that doesn't irritate my scalp, break my hair, make me itch, cause acne or gets in my lungs! Hallelujah! I am African American with 3c and 4a thick curly hair and this adds moisture without being greasy, helps reduce frizz and helps with shrinkage and adds shine. THANK YOU!

Awful smell
This product has an awful smell! I regretted purchasing it after a couple of applications. I got it from a reseller in New Zealand so I don't know if it was from an old batch or something but I will definitely not buying it again and will not recommend to anyone. I will stick to the Oi products from now on. I am still using it just because I don't want to waste it giving the price but Davines should stop producing this hair potion.

Love all the Davine'sProducts, except
this product has such a fishy and weird smell that I will need to return it. I love all the other products.. but this one needs a revamp. I am going to call the company and request a refund.

Strong Fish Smell
About a month after opening this product it started to have a strong, fish odor. I use it almost daily as my leave in conditioner, and while the product does what it's supposed to and leaves my hair feeling great, the fish smell is gross. Fortunately the smell doesn't seem to linger too long (or maybe I go nose blind), but it is unfortunate that it leaves my hands and hair smelling like fish. I'll continue to use this product until it's gone, but I definitely won't be repurchasing. I'm a die hard Davines fan and have used tons of the products and this is the first one I've ever been disappointed in.

Great leave-in moisterizer for my curly ends
I use this every time after I condition to keep my ends from getting dry and frizzy. Helps maintain curl. And it smells good! I'm wondering if the reviewer commented on the fishy smell had an old bottle. I assume natural products do turn after a while.

Fishy smell
Fishy smell, I became familiar with your product while receiving services from VIDAL SASSON ACADEMY IN SANTA MONICA, CALIF. & decided to place a order...I must have a defective product, what's really going on? It smells really fishy!
