ALCHEMIC Conditioner Chocolate Color conditioner for brown and black hair

I've used this conditioner several times trusting it was safe - natural - thinking this company is solid - but thought I'd look into ingredients before shelling out the big $$ for it again -- NOT SAFE AT ALL. Not sure if this review will make it up on the website but here goes... check this link for just one of the ingredients "basic brown" ... it is toxic in studies... for those of us with health issues who care about what goes on and into our bodies... this should be known. Davines is not the company I thought. There should be a warning on these color conditioners. Shame on you Davines. I've wasted a lot of money on your overpriced products and had no idea I was harming my health. It does deposit color on my treated hair however it is very drying. I had to add hair oil ( lots of it!) into the conditioner and afterwards when towel dried and then again after blow dry. I never have to hydrate like that after regular conditioning. I’m sorry .. love the cruelty free brand and love to support but I won’t purchase this again

I bought this to help cover my gray hairs. I don't have many and figured this would be a healthier way to do it vs. dying my hair. The shampoo and conditioner combo definitely stain my hands and nails during application (washes off with warm water and soap), but I'm unconvinced that it actually does anything to color my gray hairs. To be fair, this product is not advertised as gray coverage, so this could be entirely on me. My partner also complain about the smell of the conditioner (the next day, not while applying). To me it smells like talcum powder (which doesn't bother me).

My favorite shampoo/conditioner line ever. Makes my hair so soft and shiny, it looks great even air-dried now! Also helps to blend my lighter natural roots to my dyed hair and I really enjoy the scent. I only wish there were options for cool toned light brown/dark brown hair.

I loved how rich and shiny it made my hair look. BUT, after the second use, my highlights were gone. Check with your stylist to make sure it won't obliterate your highlights.

I had so much more hope for this conditioner and shampoo combo. They stain my hands yellow but I don’t feel like it does anything to the color of my hair. It does however make it soft.

I love the chocolate conditioner but it comes in a jar. The jar spilled all over my shower. It would be great if you could sell it in a tube or something similar.

It is not as “conditioner”y as other davines conditioners for my wavy/textured hair, but it superbly accomplishes what the rest of them cannot, which is temporarily blending my silvers with my naturally brown hair. My silvers are still visible, but blended and it mutes a couple silver strips I have. This is a fantastic option if you are graying and want to ditch the dye for your authenticity. I focus applications in the concentrated gray areas and let it sit for 10-15 minutes which is a little longer than the bottle states to. Also be sure to wring your hair well before applying and use praying hands method to distribute thru ends.

Due to a sensitivity, I can only use heat-activated hair color, which is hard to maintain. This conditioner helps me extend the time between colorings and definitely tones down the bozo red color that my hair can get when the heat-activated color rinses out. It also leaves my hair color shiny and multi-dimensional smooth and shiny, in excellent condition. Although it does not cover grey, for me at least, it takes the edge off them for a little while between coloring,

This product is the best! The results are amazing and keeps my hair healthy and shiny. Another perk is it is perfect for adding depth to my brown hair. Thank you so much!

I love this conditioner—it gives my hair color but also makes my hair feel great and it smells nice, which I wasn't expecting from a colored product. The only downside is the packaging! It's very easy to drip some out of the jar, which is a problem because it easily stains the shower/tile/grout/etc (plus you waste some of the product). PLEASE put it in a squeeze tube instead! If not for the packaging I would definitely give it five stars.

Who wants orange-red hair???? Terrible product. It left my hair dry and clown orange-red. Not chocolate at all. Now I have dry hair that looks like I hennaed it.

Its ok I bought this along with the shampoo hoping it would help my color stay longer. It is helping some. It doesn't have the good smell that the other Davines products I have bought have. I will probably go back to LOVE when I am done with this.

Not what I was expecting... I used the chocolate (dark brown) shampoo-conditioner combo 6 times over 3 weeks in generous amounts as directed on my medium brown hair. I was using it to cover tone on tone brassy highlights and a few grays. The old formula (which I used for over 2 years) would cover even blond and copper highlights plus my natural hair with a nice dark brown color leaving it soft, but this new formula only added to the brassiness (dark red-orange color). It did NOT deposit any brown color to my hair. It did color my dandruff, shower curtain liner, and tub a pinkish brown. It also left my hair feeling dry and heavily damaged. It does smell wonderful, but that doesnt make it worth what I paid for it.

Covers some gray and smells so good! I use this conditioner to help cover my gray hair. While it is not a permanent dye by any means, it does help to blend the color and make my hair feel thicker.

Satisfied Great product. It leaves my hair feeling healthy & soft. I'll continue to use it since it's naturaly produced but I have noticed it doesn't feel any more soft than other high end products.

Amazing Results I was surprised at how wonderful my hair looked after using Alchemic Chocolate Shampoo and Conditioner. I shampooed and conditioned my hair again the next day just to see if it would come out as good - and it did. These products are FANTASTIC. I have naturally curly dark brown hair. It makes my curls look soft, lustrous and shiny with rich color. I also use the "This is a Curly Hair Mousse" and "This is a Curl Building Serum" styling products. I used those products before trying this shampoo & conditioner. Adding the Alchemic products really made my hair fantastic. The scent is like a soft baby powder with a hint of exotic incense added in. It's intoxicating.

Don't know why it took me so long to try WOW! I love this conditioner! My hair has never been healthier! I'll try other products but always end with Davines! Superb product
