LOVE CURL Conditioner Curl-enhancing fast conditioner for curly hair

I can't believe they changed the formula. I'm so upset! Why ruin a good thing?! If you loved the old formula, don't waste your money on this. To say I am devastated is an understatement. I have long, curly, bleached blonde hair and I have been using the Love curl shampoo and condition for over 10 years now, and it made my hair so soft and the curls were perfect! I just tried the new formula and I am in shock at how bad it is. It does not condition. The old one was thick and creamy and had so much moisture. This is loose and thin and runny. Nothing like the old one. I could barely comb out my hair. It left my hair feeling dry, like straw. I am seriously in shock that Davines would do this! They are such a reputable company that I have loved for so many years. Why go and change such a good thing?! I'm so sad. I genuinely hope they bring back the old formula. I don't know what I'm going to do. That was the only shampoo and conditioner that I have used for the last decade!!!

I purchased this product and thought that maybe I'd gotten a bad batch but after seeing all the recent reviews regarding the reformulation of the product this must have been an intentional change for the product. The new one is more watery and not nearly as hydrating. It looks, feels and smells like a cheap drugstore conditioner. I absolutely LOVED the former version and have used it for years but Davines has lost another long term customer with this terrible change. So disappointed. I never write reviews but this was upsetting since it was a long time favorite product. So unfortunate. Hopefully they eventually change back to the old formulation.

So sorry this was reformulated. I hate when brands introduce a new product and give it the same name as an old product... Disrespectful! I am giving this an honest try, but so far it seems less effective than the old formula. It's thinner and more liquid, harder to deal with in the jar. I'm also going through the product much more quickly. I used to justify the price for this because it seemed concentrated with a little going a long way. Now I think there is really nothing special here.

It used to be thick and luxurious and now it feels like watered down stuff I would get from Walgreens. What is up with this change? I have used this conditioner for YEARS. Please change it back or lower the price because I have to use much more now with the watered down formula.

New formula sucks. My hair feels dry and awful. You have to use so much more product than before and the consistency is off. If you loved this product before, don’t waste your money on this reformulation trash.

I’ve been using Davines for many years and the new curly conditioner is AWFUL! Hate its consistency and smell and works like cheap conditioner…makes me so sad because it used to be amazing.

It seems the that the formula for both Love Shampoo and Love Curl Condition has either changed or is an issue with quality control. The Shampoo now smells like dish soap and my hair feels as if I have washed it with dish soap. The Conditioner is much runnier than before and my hair does not feel the same. I've been ordering direct through Davines since 2019 and purchasing through a local salon prior to that. This is the first time I've ever considered moving on from Davines from my daily routine. I'd love it if someone would contact me directly about this. Thanks.

I have used the LOVE shampoo and conditioner for a few years now. It is a bit pricey, but it has always lasted a long time and made my hair feel great! With the recent formula change, I have gone through about a quarter of the tub in just 3 weeks. (I only wash my hair once or twice a week.) The consistency of the conditioner USED to be super thick and creamy, making my hair feel soft and healthy. Now, it is the consistency of a mid-grade Walmart conditioner. It does okay as far as conditioning initially, but after it dries, my hair starts feeling heavy and gross now. I waited to write a review in case there was something else that maybe was affecting my hair, but the new formula is the only change. I’m very sad. I have always lovd this product. It is the only one I have ever felt was worth spending extra money on. I guess I will go back to $5 Walmart conditioner unless the formula goes back.

Currently working through my first jar of the reformulated conditioner, and sadly I will be switching products when I’m done with it, after using the old Love conditioner for years. I have to use more product to achieve the same effect, and it just *feels* cheaper. It’s no longer thick and rich feeling (like, why keep it in a bucket-shaped container rather than a pump at this point) and at this rate is only going to last me a month and a half. The old one was pricy but worth it and a single container would last 3-4 months—the new stuff is comparable to something I can get for a quarter of the price at the convenience store.

I truly love what this product does for my hair. I bought this along with the shampoo. It’s the first product I have tried that makes such a huge difference without any styling or additional products. So I was very disappointed when I started getting severe breakouts. Specifically my chest, back, and neck. I’ve never had really bad breakouts in those areas. I wash my body after my hair and it still does not make a difference. Unfortunately, the hair results are not worth the skin issues for me. I have stopped using Davines and my skin is better but still struggling to fully recover.

This is my favorite condition soooo far. My hair feels and looks the best it has in years!!!

The new product works well after just the first use, however *very important to know* that many of these products have a strong & lingering smell!! I am very sensitive to smells & only the MOMO line has a light & natural smell which dissipates. I’m switching to only using that line which works great/equally well for my curls. This new formulation is so much worse! This used to be the only conditioner that actually worked for my hair, but the recent change is more watery, less hydrating, and smells cheaper. I needed to use 3 times the amount I usually use to even get close to acceptably conditioning my hair, and it's still squeaky and frizzy afterwards. It's works like any old grocery store conditioner now. I'm devastated by this formulation change.

The new formula is just awful. The smell is overpowering, the consistency is way too runny, and it doesn't work like the old formula. I've even tried using way more, but I still get worse results than with the old formula. It is really a shame that davines changed what was working. It is also really disappointing that I wasn't alerted to the change when I bought my last stash. I buy in multiples, so now I'm stuck with a bunch of pricey conditioner that is really bad. Please return to the old formula!

Bought a small travel size at the salon and it lasted me more than 6 weeks. I wanted to try it for I have lots of skin and scent sensitivities. It was amazing. When I went back I bought a large jar, unbeknownst to me the small jar was the old almond formula with a light fruity scent, and the new jar was the new formula with a heavy perfumed scent. I just washed my hair in the sink with a bar of soap after only using it for the first time this morning to get the smell to go away. I don't want to go to bed with that scent on my pillow. It lingered everywhere, even in my car when I got back in it after work. It also gave me a sore throat and a headache. I'm not sure I can return it, but I definitely will not be using it again. I agree the new formula is a thinner, more watery texture and not the lovely thick paste of the old. I am disappointed.

I used to love this conditioner but now it’s incredibly thin and doesn’t do anything special for my hair. Whatever happened with the formula change is really disappointing. I have to use 3-4 times the amount of conditioner than I used to and which doesn’t justify the cost at all. Really sad because these products used to be my go to.

The new formula is horrible, not only does it not condition and define curls, but it causes a lot of irritation if it gets on my skin and scalp. I am very disappointed that an Italian brand has cheapened itself out so much. The old formula was perfect, there was no need to change it and I would be willing to pay more just to have it back. This line of Davine products has always worked well with my wavy, fine hair. But you changed the consistency (it's thinner) and the fragrance! I'm upset about the fragrance change more than the thinness. Fragrance is so important, and I normally choose unscented items. I find the new smell to be somewhat unpleasant and wish you had never changed.

I have used this product for several years, but this time, the product was unsatisfactory because it was nothing like the previous versions. It is runny and thin, not thick as it used to be. Also, it has an odor now- no odor previously.

As a longstanding Davines user, and lover of the LOVE line for my curls I was apprehensive about the formula change. I gave it a try and I must say the fragrance is very flat - not the same at all to the original fragrance. Also the product has a completely different texture - it is much thinner than the original thick conditioning conditioner. My curls are not at hydrated and lush as they'd been using LOVE. I really hope they go back to the old formula. Sad.

This was not what I was expecting. I’ve purchased this product twice in the past from a salon. When I bought it from the salon the product was thick and creamy. The product I received from my online order was watery and runny. Nothing like what I was expecting. I’d return it if I could!

I got this product in exchange for my review, and my biggest initial complaint was the lack of instructions. There was nothing on the bottle clarifying whether it was a leave-in or wash-out product, which made the first use a little confusing. I ended up having to search online for directions before using it properly. After that, I had a much better experience with it. It made my hair feel silky, nourished, and noticeably less dry, especially through the ends. My curls also seemed a little more defined and shiny after styling. The scent is definitely strong, similar to their other haircare products, but because this is rinsed out, it’s much less overpowering once my hair dried.

This mask has really improved the feel and look of my hair. I used it twice so far. My hair is softer, smoother, easier to comb, shiny, and more hydrated. I like how easy it is to use and it works fast. The instructions on Davines website, said to leave in my hair for 30 seconds, comb through and then rinse, and that’s what I did. I can’t use products that need to be left on my hair for 20 minutes and 30 minutes, that’s a waste of my time. I love this product and I love how fast it works. However it’s very pricy so I am not sure if I will be able to purchase anymore in the future.

I’m really loving this Davines Love Curl Mask! I have wavy/curly hair that tends to get dry and frizzy, and this mask has been a game changer. It’s super nourishing without weighing my hair down. I apply it after shampooing, leave it on for 10-15 minutes, and rinse. The result is soft, defined curls with way less frizz. My hair feels smoother, more hydrated, and the curls actually hold their shape better. It detangles really well too, which is a big plus for me. The scent is light and pleasant, very Davines-style. If you have curly or wavy hair that needs extra moisture and care, I highly recommend this mask. It’s become a staple in my hair routine!

This conditioner is magic— after just one use I immediately noticed an improvement with the texture of my hair as well as more defined/less frizzy curls! I also love that it’s in a container (easier to get all the conditioner out!)

I hit a financial rough patch for a while and unfortunately could no longer afford my usual Davines hair care products. I was recently able to purchase my Davines products again and the noticeable difference after just one wash! I have missed being able to take care of my hair the way it deserves. I have struggled with thin, breaking hair my whole life. My hair is naturally curly and through the years of struggling with contrast hair health, a hair dresser I switched to a few years ago turned me onto Davines and my hair made a drastic improvement. Last summer my hair was in the best condition it’s ever been in and I attribute a lot of that to the consistent use of Davines products. I am still currently struggling with thinning and growing it long how I wish I could, but my curls are curling, my scalp feels better, and even the texture has improved. I’m looking forward to getting my hair back in shape. If there was only one thing I’d change, it would be prices. We shouldn’t have to choose between taking care of ourselves the way our bodies deserve, or neglecting self care to keep a roof over heads. The way self care can improve mental health is a big deal, especially when we are faced with hard times. So would I recommend this product? Yes, without hesitation. And would I mention the cost? Yes, because I truly believe Davines can produce the same high quality products that changed one of my biggest struggles into one of my biggest flexes, at a more affordable price. In this day and age, we could all use a little extra support.
