OI Liquid Luster

I have natural mixed blonde hair. My hair started turning white and due to years of menopause it is very thin and brittle. It would fall out in clumps with delicate combing. Finding this product saved me from a very short haircut. My husband loves after I use this. We both love the smell. My hair is now silky soft. I just have to hide my oil from my hubby!

I love this product. I use it instead of conditioner. It’s light-weight and it leaves my hair looking, feeling and smelling amazing. I first tried it it at The Bird House in Bushwick, NY and now I’m hooked.

Don’t spend your money. The market has cheaper better options.

I tried this 3 times to make sure it wasn’t an atypical result. I measured the 40 ml and timed the 10 minutes for the application. I also used the Love Smoothing set each time. All 3 times my hair was dry and frizzy looking after using this Oi liquid luster (the opposite of shiny) Other Davines products work great for me. But unfortunately this one made my look bad.

This treatment made my hair extremely shiny. Light was literally reflecting off my hair. It has a pleasant scent that lasts for days. This will be a regular purchase. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love this, whatever it is. I have fine, straight hair that grows very quickly and even though I get structural cuts to give it shape, my haircuts seem to lose shape after a few weeks. This made my hair so soft that it lays down again like it's right out the salon. Don't need any other products for now and might cancel my next cut because I don't feel I need it anymore.

I think this is effective, I have highlights over my greying naturally blonde hair. My hair feels smoother after this. However, I have never had a hair product burn my eyes so intensely. I now am very careful using this in the shower: keeping my head tilted back and careful not to instinctively wipe water out of my eyes when there is some product on my hands.

This did make my hair very shiny but I feel that it faded my color very fast.

Love the product, but I hate the ingredients, which I forgot to read before I bought. The reason other reviewer's are complaining that it stings the eyes or any broken skin is that it has 3 different types of alcohol in it. One is within the first 3 ingredients meaning there's a heavier concentration of it in the product. None of them are the good alcohols, we're talking denatured, isopropyl and straight up alcohol. The product does what they says it does, but I won't repurchase. Same thing with the Melu heat protection spray, one of the first ingredients is denatured alcohol. I should have stuck with the Oi Milk spray. My hair loves it and the ingredients are much better. I expect more from such an expensive haircare line. Why all the alcohol in some of these products Davines?

Didn’t love this one. I didn’t notice any difference in my hair using this, and with the necessary amount, it goes quickly! I use a similar product from another brand that makes a huge difference in my hair, so I will be sticking with that one. Love Davines for most of my other products, though!

Works beautifully even in high humidity. FL girl here! I use this on myself light wavy texture and my daughter who has bouncy spiral curls. It maintains our texture, but smooths and shines if we air dry. It smooths both our hair considerably if we blow dry with heat. We use different shampoos/conditioners from the Davines line, but have a shared love of this and the Oi Oil. Great products!

I can’t tell if I love it yet, I was going through the ingredients list and there’s a lot of alcohol in it wouldn’t this dry your hair out?

I have strawberry blonde, naturally curly hair. I am always looking for products to give great shine and reduce fuzz. I have only been using this product for a week, however, I think I found my fit. This product is great for curly hair! I just ordered two more bottles.

I read the reviews before I bought it and agree, there should be more direction on use but decided to try it anyway. I am so glad I did!!! I have sew in extensions, for about 4 years now, and never once has that hair felt like my natural hair - until now!!!! I couldn't stop feeling my hair all day, raved about it and highly recommend it. I have long hair and didn't even use the recommend amount. Definitely worth the purchase, cheaper than all the other combined products I've been using. Added bonus, my hair smells fantastic. I also use the OI conditioner and DeDe Shampoo, I used the liquid luster prior to conditioner and finish off with the OI milk.

Fantastic!!!!! I use several of Davines products, (including in salon color service) and they’re excellent products. But I live in South Florida and am always fighting the humidity no matter what. And I’ve lacked the shine and softness I desire. Having light blonde colored hair it’s a challenge. Well I found the answer with this! I’m amazed really. It’s looks and feels as if I got a Brazilian straightening. Had to share since I count on reviews myself.

I love the results, I don’t care for the scent. I notice that my hair feels thicker after using. I prefer the love line scent over oi. I recommend including a small clear measuring cup with 1 ml and 2 ml. I used 2 ml for my hair. The scent is too strong for me. I washed my hair first with the Love shampoo Bar, rinsed, squeezed out excess water the applied the gloss, left on a couple of minutes, then followed up with just a quarter sized amount of love smoothing conditioner, rinsed, combed, towel and sire dried! Good enough for this 63 year old!

My hair is pretty shiny anyway so I didn't see much benefit especially for the price. I use Oi and Love Curl products and love them.

i used this product first one came damaged and they replaced within a week which was ok! not wrapped well! called my davines salon for instructions! poor instructions if Any! used very sparingly! and it was nice! good consistency and great davines scent! adding this keeper to my regime!

It makes my hair look and feel like it did when I was young (prior to chemical processes).

I have to agree with the lack of directions, but I do like the product a lot. My hair is shiny and smooth and smells great. It will still frizz up a little though, so I have to use some oil or pomade when it is dry, which I was hoping to avoid, but not much of it.

My hair has never been softer! There are very few fly-away hairs, which is remarkable for wirey, gray hair. I do wish the instructions were better. I’m not sure how often I should use it or how long to apply it to my hair. I hate “winging” it with my long hair, but so far it’s turned out gorgeous. Even my coworkers noticed.

The product does add shine to the hair. Like another reviewer, I accidentally got it on my face too close to my eye and it stung which is very unusual for Davines products. I will continue to use and see if it was worth the price.

Do NOT get this product in your eyes or any broken skin. Serious pain!! It does make my hair more manageable and slightly more shiny.

Absolutely worth it! I've loved Davines for years and the OI line is one of my favorites for everyday hair problems/fixes and scent. My hair is soft and shiny, and my real hair is now actually shinier and softer than my clip-in human hair extensions, which is somewhat problematic for blending. Definitely a positive for my real hair though. I agree with the other reviewers that it would be nice to have a little more information about usage frequency and what other product lines the shine treatment is compatible with. For instance, I'm also using the Energizing Thickening Tonic, and I'm not sure whether I should be using that prior to the Liquid Luster, on separate days, or not at all if I'm using the Luster. Based on what I know about the ingredients, it seems like the Luster should be applied after the Thickening Tonic. I'm always cautious about mixing products because my hair is so fine and non-porous that if I use too many coating products or the wrong type, it can become brittle and break. This means no rice, barley, wheat, or other proteins, and I even have to be careful about what types of oils are in the products I use. Also agree that the instruction font is too small, but I doubt that it can be changed much due to the size of the available print space. An online info database would be helpful.

I agree with reviewer “Maria.” The OI Liquid Luster could use better instructions, as the small words on the bottle are hard to read. It left my dry hair very soft when used after washing and on wet hair, then drying. Today I tried it on dry hair, left it on for 15 minutes, then rinsed it off and dried my hair. Same result: very soft hair. A little goes a long way, so $50. is actually a really good deal for this big bottle.

I love this product - I have curly, aging hair and this rinse brought my hair back to its youthful luster - I’m in love! But Davines, please, please, please, always give precise directions of how to use your products and HOW OFTEN!! Which would be helpful to know, specifically for this product - You are really lacking on the details. That being said, I thoroughly enjoy all your products and have been a loyal customer for years! Thank you for being awesome!

Can’t even believe how amazing this product is my hair is so silky and I only left it on in the shower for about a minute and rinsed no conditioner and it feels and looks like I got a salon gloss and blow out

This is the best hair product I have bought !!!! Good bye frizz ( I live in Fla) > Smells sooooo good.
